Winchester Center Volunteer Fire
House Fire 113 Highview Dr 12/12/2008
A portable generator being used to power a house after a wide spread power outage sparks a fire in a single family log cabin home. An ice storm from the night before has left the northwest corner of Connecticut without power and fire crews have to get the public works department to clear downed trees from the road so they can get the apparatus o the fire. The heavy timber rafters,foam insulation, and metal roof of the structure add to the difficulty and time it will take to get the fire under control.
