MVA With Extrication Thomaston Ave Near Fort Hill Rd 10/04/09

Just before 1am Waterbury Fire was dispatched for a car verses telephone pole mva with entrapment in the area of Fort Hill Rd. The crews of Engine 1, Truck 2, and Rescue 9 arrived to find a single car accident with one female victim requiring extricaion. As the AMR ambulance personel prepared to remove the patient the fire department opened the car and removed the roof so that the injured woman could be safely removed. The patient was transported to Waterbury Hospital for evaluation and treatment.
