Basement Fire 341 Lincoln St 7/10/10

Just before 4:45am came was put out for Waterbury Fire to respond to an explosion and possible structure fire at 341 Lincoln St. The first due engine arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the building possibly from a basement fire. The occupants of the structure evacuated the home but their dog was still missing in the house. As crews pushed into the basement to find the seat of the fire the Truck 1 opened the roof to ventilate the structure and the rescue company performed the searches of the first and second floors. During the searches they located the family dog and rescued it from the smokey interior no worse for wear. The fire was brought under control quickly with fire damage contained to the basement and mostly smoke damage to the upper floors. No injuries were reported and a representative of the fire marshal's office was called to the scene to investigate the fire.
