Structure Fire 112 Highland Ave

Early on the Sunday afternoon August 7,2010 call began to pour into the Waterbury Dispatch Center for a structure fire at 112 Highland Ave. Responding units could see heavy smoke coming from the area and an additional truck company was added to the assignment. They arrived to find heavy fire showing from the rear of a 3 story occupied multiple dwelling that was involving the second and third floors. Primary searches confirmed all occupants were out of the building so the fire fighters could go directly to work attacking the fire. Several lines were stretched to the rear exterior as well as several being brought through the front for an interior attack. The bulk of the fire was knocked down quickly keeping the damage contained mostly to the third floor porch and attic space. Crews would remain on scene for an extended period overhauling the structure and assisting the fire marshal with the investigation into the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire
