Fully Involved House Fire 26 Wheaton Rd 010309

Washington Volunteers were dispatched to 26 Wheaton Rd after multiple 911 calls that the residence there was in fire. First arriving fire fighters found the 3 story balloon frame construction turn of the century colonial well involved. The building collapsed shortly after making the operation an external defensive one only. Mutual aid for tankers, ems, and manpower was dispatched from Warren and Roxbury. Crews remained on scene several hours,after the fire was knocked down, chasing pockets of fire in the debris pile. No occupants were home at the time of the fire and the cause is under investigation by the fire marshal.
